To register as a nondegree seeking student, prospective students must use the OCE's online enrollment system and go through the following steps to complete registration.
STEP 1: Review all Registration Policies for Nondegree Students.
STEP 2: Review semester-based course offerings in the Course Search. Note: Degree and nondegree students may enroll in up to three course sections at a time.
Search for semester-based courses in the Course Search by selecting subject, online or by CRN. A CRN (Course Reference Number) is a five-digit number that uniquely identifies the course section. You will need this information to assist you with your online course selection(s).
Example:
CRN: 35603
Course: HIST 273 ONL
Title: Illinois History
Session: Online
Type: Semester-based
STEP 3: Verify that you have the appropriate prerequisites and (if registering online) the necessary Web browser and technical requirements for the selected courses.
STEP 4: Register online and follow the steps outlined below to complete registration. This process takes approximately two weeks to finalize. Please be patient.
You will receive a printable confirmation summary page automatically once your submit your online registration form. This ensures that your registration has been received.
