Online Self-Paced Courses

• These courses are offered continuously throughout the year, summer included, so you can register at any time.
• From the date you are officially registered, you are given six months to complete your course. Students in NetMath and Math Teacher Link courses are an exception to this rule. They have 16 weeks to complete a course.
• Each course is composed of a series of lessons, exams, and a final exam or paper.
• In each lesson, you will be asked to read specific selections and/or lecture notes and to submit an assignment.
• Exams are proctored either online or on-site by an approved individual.
• You may take up to three self-paced courses at one time. NetMath and Math Teacher Link students can only take one course at a time.
• While you might be able to finish the course in less time than the six months allowed, you are not permitted to complete a course in fewer than six weeks. Since the primary concern of our courses is quality of work and mastery of concepts, you are encouraged to plan on a minimum of 10 to 12 weeks for the completion of a course.
• If you are working toward a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, you may earn up to 60 credit hours with self-paced courses. It is highly recommended that you confer with the academic college of interest to you to ensure the number of hours accrued through these self-paced courses can be applied toward the degree.
• If you are an enrolled undergraduate student on this campus, or have been enrolled here in the past and still have not received your degree, a signature from your college dean is required for enrollment in a self-paced course. Our office will obtain this on your behalf. Please note that this may take additional time during your enrollment process.
• All self-paced students, regardless of whether or not they are admitted to a degree program, register in exactly the same way.

NetMath and Math Teacher Link Self-Paced Courses

Both NetMath and Math Teacher Link courses are considered self-paced courses, but have some different policies that apply to them. Please make sure to visit the NetMath and Math Teacher Link websites and read policy information before registering for a course.
